It's been an busy week. My work was featured in the Federation of Canadian Artist's magazine. "Art Avenue". Thank you Federation!
I am getting ready for my next big show coming up entitled, "A Sense of Place." I am so excited about showing with fellow artists, Peter Spohn, Nan Goodship, Sharron Campbell and Angela Anderson. We are showing in the Portals Gallery at the Cowichan Valley Community Centre from April 1- 30 and will be having a real, actual opening for the show on April 5 From 4-6 PM. Everyone is invited!
Right now I am busy wiring the pieces, varnishing, waiting for paint to dry and cataloging the work. I'd rather be painting but these things are necessary too! The weather is changing here on Vancouver Island and it is starting to feel more and more like spring. The snowdrops are fully out now and the daffodils and tulips and forsythia are growing and will bud soon. I have entitled the piece below, "The Promise of Spring" and that's just what is happening now- the new growth is just starting to happen.
